MICROBIOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL TOXICOLOGY

Lecturer Pool

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the budget situation in California, the Department of Microbiology and Environmental Toxicology will not have any lecturer openings in the 2009-10 academic year. Beyond June 2010, please inquire with the department as to the availability of opportunities before applying.

The Department of Microbiology and Environmental Toxicology at UCSC invites applications for an on-going pool of qualified part-time temporary lecturer(s). Outstanding candidates with experience to teach in any specialty within toxicology are encouraged to apply. Course topics include statistics/experimental design, ecotoxicology, and risk assessment, among others. Teaching assistants may be assigned to assist instructors as needed, and will be supervised by the instructor.

Rank: Lecturer

Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary is approximately $6,500 per course (prorated for percent of time).

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have a doctoral degree or equivalent in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, and/or Toxicology or a related field completed or expected by effective date, and must present strong evidence of teaching competence or potential for teaching.

Effective Dates: As openings occur starting Spring quarter 2001, contingent upon availability of funding.
